10-Day Botswana Highlights & Vic Falls Safari

This private camping safari brings you to three of Botswana’s best wildlife regions, as well as Zambia’s Victoria Falls.

We travel from Maun to Moremi Wildlife Reserve and the Savuti Marsh, which are both known for some of Africa’s greatest game watching. In these two wilderness reserves, game watching will take place in open-sided 4×4 game viewing vehicles.
We then embark on a safari and sunset boat cruise in Chobe National Park, home to some of the largest elephant herds in Africa, along with a rich variety of other birds and wildlife. We then crossed into Zambia, where we visited Victoria Falls, enjoyed optional activities and spent two nights camping on the banks of the Zambezi River
Highlights of Botswana & Victoria Falls The safari comes to a close at Livingstone, Zambia, on the Zambian side of the Falls.
Day 1: MAUN – BOTSWANA [camping]
Our adventure through Southern Africa commences in Maun, a little village on the Okavango Delta’s southern border. Maun is our gateway to Botswana’s most beautiful wilderness areas.
For the more adventurous at heart, there’s a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense). The day ends with a relaxing poolside sunset drink and meal at the lodge’s restaurant (own expense), to celebrate the start of our game-packed journey to Botswana.
Day 2 – 5: camping in Moremi & Savuti – Botswana
(B=breakfast, L= lunch, D= dinner)
We’ll stay in the Moremi and Savuti game parks for the following 4 nights, giving us plenty of opportunity to explore their different natural environments. We go on game drives in quest of the abundant wildlife that can be found in these great wilderness locations, such as wild dogs, elephants, hippo, buffalo, lions, and other species.
Moremi Game Reserve is regarded as one of the world’s most important wildlife places, and we visit Moremi in an open 4×4 safari vehicle for superb game watching! Grasslands, floodplains, woods, lily ponds, and meandering water channels combine to create a diverse range of wildlife watching environments.
As we go north, we cross a sandy hill and enter the Mababe valley, eventually arriving at the Savuti Marsh. A wide grassland region attracts zebra and wildebeest herds, which attract Savuti’s famous lion prides.
We camp in one of the accessible Savuti campsites or at the Zwei-Zwei Pans in the Savuti region. The private campground in Zwei-Zwei Pans, some 20 kilometers north of Savuti, provides a more untamed bush camping experience than the national park proper.
Day 6 – 7: camping in CHOBE NATIONAL PARK – BOTSWANA
B.L.D
The Chobe River meanders along the northern edge of the Chobe National Park, drawing some of Africa’s greatest elephant herds.
In the morning, we go on a game drive in Chobe in search of animals before returning to camp for breakfast. We depart in the late afternoon for a sunset wildlife watching trip on the Chobe River. Chobe River draws vast herds of elephants, as well as a variety of other wild species and countless birds, making it one of Africa’s top water-based game viewing destinations.
On the seventh night of our Botswana safari, we camp near Kasane along the Chobe River.
Day 8 – 9: CAMPING VICTORIA FALLS – LIVINGSTONE
We spend our final two nights in Zambia, near Livingstone, on the banks of the majestic Zambezi River.
Walk through tropical foliage to the brink of Victoria Falls, colloquially known as “Mosi oa Tunya,” which means “thundering smoke.”
You may go white water rafting on the enormous Zambezi River, bungi jumping, or take the scenic “flight of angels” over Vic Falls while you’re here (own expense).
Day 10: ENDS OF in LIVINGSTONE – ZAMBIA [- B]
After breakfast, the Botswana Highlights & Victoria Falls Safari concludes at 08:00. We can arrange transportation to and from local airports.
Please note that this 10-day Botswana camping safari is significantly longer than the 14-day Botswana Wildlife and Victoria Falls Safari. There is also a 13-day Maun to Livingstone tour option. For additional information, please contact African Budget Safaris.
