4-Day Mount Meru Ascent Adventure

“Meru boasts a single route to the summit, doable in three days, although we highly recommend a four-day ascent for acclimatization. Many mountaineers use Meru for acclimatization before attempting Kilimanjaro. The mountain retains minimal snow from its volcanic activity.

Unlike Kilimanjaro, an ascent of Mount Meru requires an armed ranger escort as you traverse Arusha National Park. This leg of the journey offers a captivating walking safari experience, with opportunities to spot African buffaloes, zebras, and black and white colobus monkeys.

During your trek towards the mountain, the Momela and Ngurdoto Lakes provide a haven for various bird species, including pelicans and flamingos.”
